Month: August 2014

Aaaaand we’re back!

It’s been a while! The past week was filled with crazy packing and moving. Now that the summer is coming to an end, it’s time to go back to school. I’m so excited that I get to move back in tomorrow! Of course, moving day is pretty much the craziest day of the year-worse than finals even. First you have to load up your car with everything you need at school, then once you get there you have to unload and pray your school has an elevator because who really wants to take boxes up one or more sets of stairs? Thankfully it’s the modern day so almost every place has an elevator. I really prefer the “moving in” day to the “moving out day” because at least when you move in you get to set up, decorate and really make your room your own space.

At my school there’s a cork-board wall in every room. Last year I made a collage on a small part of the board and it was made out of pictures and words cut out of a ton of Teen Vogue magazines. It was so fun but once in a while I get super bored and have a big urge to craft things or decorate. So a few months later I decided to expand my collage up onto the ceiling. My bed was lofted so it was almost like a canopy! So cute. This year’s decorations are still a work in progress so I’ll have to post a picture later.
Another fun craft to decorate your room with are quote strings! Write little sayings/quotes on small pieces of paper and paperclip or pin them onto long pieces of string to hang on your walls. It really makes a boring wall come to life.

So I think I’m in denial about going back to school. I’m super excited, but at the same time I almost don’t believe I’ll really be there tomorrow. The summer just went by SO fast. Classes start on Monday and it’ll be a lot of work this semester but completely worth it. French, Italian, Karate, a Religion class, a Civil War history class, and my honors seminar will definitely keep me busy!
I really want to not procrastinate this school year and also attempt to look somewhat put together every day, but somewhere deep down inside me my conscience is telling me I’m going to put things off until last minute like usual and there will be a lot of days I roll out of bed and go to class looking like a potato. Hahahhahaha at least I know myself well.. Time for bed! Big day tomorrow.

Stay spontaneous!
xoxo,
